TASAWUF SEBAGAI KEMAJUAN PERADABAN: STUDI PERKEMBANGAN SOSIAL DAN EKONOMI TAREKAT IDRISYYIAH DI TASIKMALAYA

Abstract

This research aims to study the role of Sufism in the progress of civilization. Sufism is a mystical tradition in Islam that emphasizes the human relationship with God through spiritual experience. As a tradition that has existed since the beginning of Islam, Sufism has contributed to many aspects of social, cultural and political life in the Islamic world. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques through literature studies and interviews with several members of the Idrisiyyah order. Data analysis was carried out using a phenomenological approach to understand the meaning and experience of Sufism in the context of the progress of civilization. The results of the study show that the Idrisiyyah congregation has an important role in the progress of civilization, especially in the social and economic fields, namely by establishing a da'wah movement in the field of Economics in the form of Islamic Boarding School Cooperatives (Kopontren), as well as a grocery shop in 1987 managed by the Al-Management Foundation. - Idrisiyah. The grocery shop business turned into a minimarket retail business unit under the name Qini Mart in the 2000s. Around 2007, Qini Mart began to build a more modern system using the Convenience Store system like many modern retail businesses use. Qinimart now has around 11 branches, in addition to establishing BMT Idrisiyyah, Qini Mart (Mini Market) Qini Center, Qini Vaname (Shrimp Ponds) Qini Depo (Fisheries), Qini Minang (Restaurant), Plantation, Small and Medium Enterprises Stalls, Idrisiyyah Entrepreneurs Association (API), Hajj and Umrah trips. Apart from that, the preaching of Sheikh Muhammad Fathurahman spread his wings to create a YouTube channel "Idrisiyyah Order" and has Idrisiyah radio broadcasts. This research provides a deeper understanding of the role of Sufism in the progress of civilization.
